At some point you realize,
No matter how you try
There will always be more.
More to do, more to say,
More things to see and know,
And you just stop trying.
Whether by depth of
Experience or
By quantity, there can
Always be more.
Instead of striving, stop.
Contentment and peace
create a soft focus on
A more distant horizon.
You can actually feel
the slow of time,
Like waiting
For a kettle to boil,
Or a Dawn or fever break.
There is bird song and light.
If you’ve been staring close,
Look far.
If you’ve been distant, bring closer.
It’s all part of the same wave of
Tumbling overlapping vectors.
Nesting somewhere in the world is springtime.
Somewhere else winter awakens.
Somewhere eggs are building
breaking, and birthing.
Cycles continue.
(Are you breathing?
Have you felt time pass?
Was it comfort or worry?
Reset as needed.)
That stillness is yours to harness.
The next time you go there,
Stay there a while,
Soak it in,
It will be that much easier
to find again.
